JEANNE ROBERT FOSTER, who as a young woman was a well-known American poet, connected with Meher Baba through Darwin and Jeanne Shaw when she was around 70.

Jeanne Roberf Foster was around 70 years old when the Shaws met her in upstate New York. Earlier in her life, she had been a noted poet and journalist who had both participated in the birth of Modernist painting in America, and had been close friends with literary figures such as Ezra Pound, Ford Madox Ford, and William Butler Yeats (and his father, John Butler Yeats, an artist).

Through Darwin and Jeanne Shaw, Jeanne came to know of Meher Baba, met Him in 1952 in New York City, and wrote a volume of poems to Him, whose cover is shown below. The following pages, under that cover, embody the pages in Darwin's book about Ms. Foster. There are more references to her later in the book, and I will add those if they are of interest.

Here are several poems by Ms. Foster, other than the ones in her volume dedicated to BABA.
I believe these are from earlier in her life.
